14August 2024 Zyrardow has joined the Nationwide Collection of Used Cooking Oil (UCO). , becoming one of the leaders in popularizing waste segregation at the local level. The city will gain 7 Oil Makers - modern devices that allow residents to safely donate used cooking oil, which is an important step towards protecting the environment and increasing environmental awareness.
Zyrardow - history and modernity
Zyrardow, a city in the Mazovian Voivodeship, is known for its unique history and architecture, referring to its industrial heritage from the 19th century. Formerly a European center of the linen industry, today it is developing rapidly, with an emphasis on pro-environmental initiatives and the involvement of residents in sustainable development activities.
Why is UCO collection important?
Used cooking oil generated in households poses a serious threat to the environment. Pouring it down the drain contributes to water pollution, soil degradation and infrastructure damage. With UCOllector, residents can easily contribute to reducing these negative effects by recycling UCO.
How do the UCOllectors work?
Oilmats are specialized devices that allow the safe storage and transportation of UCO. As part of the "You'll pass the oil, you'll have a tree!" campaign, users register on a mobile app, through which they can manage the collection process, donate used oil and collect points exchanged for prizes - including tree seedlings. The location of UCOllectors in Zyrardow includes popular points such as schools, bus stops and recreation centers.

"I am extremely pleased that it is Zyrardow that will be the next place where Olejomats will appear - a city that is particularly close to me both personally and in the context of the activities of our company EMKA. We have always actively participated in the life of the local community, supporting it in various ways. I am convinced that Olejomaty will meet with as enthusiastic a reception as Recyclomats and the action "Waste you pass, tree you have!" - a well-known and valued pro-environmental initiative by Zyrardow residents, which our company has been successfully conducting for years." - emphasizes Krzysztof Rdest, President of the Management Board of EMKA S.A. "Innovation is the foundation of our business, which allows us to continuously develop the company and provide services at the highest level." - he adds.
