12November 2024. The municipality of Dębnica Kaszubska, picturesquely located in Pomorskie Voivodeship, has joined the innovative project of the All-Poland Used Cooking Oil (UCO) Collection. Thanks to this initiative, the municipality's residents will have the opportunity to use an innovative device - the UCOllector, which will make a revolutionary contribution to protecting the environment and improving waste management.
Why are UCOllectors important?
Used cooking oil, which comes from home frying or canning, among other things, poses a serious threat to the environment. Pouring UCO down the drain leads to costly blockages and contamination of groundwater, soil and even drinking water. Thanks to Oilmakers, households across the country can safely dispose of this waste while contributing to the development of environmentally friendly recycling.
Dębnica Kaszubska commune: a small homeland of big changes
Dębnica Kaszubska is a charming municipality in Slupsk County, surrounded by forests, lakes and picturesque hills. It is known for caring for its natural resources and implementing ecological solutions that promote sustainable development. The decision to join the UCOllector project is further proof that local authorities and residents are actively working to protect nature.
The first UCOllector, which will appear in the municipality, will become a symbol of the ecological efforts of the Dębnica Kaszubska community and will enable local residents to conveniently and responsibly donate used cooking oil.
How does UCOllector work?
Oilmakers are advanced devices that collect used cooking oil in special eco-friendly bottles. To use the system:
- Download the free UCOllector app available for iOS and Android devices.
- On the app, find the nearest Oilmaker, pick up an empty bottle and register your participation in the collection.
- Once you've filled your bottle, return it to the Oil Maker, earning points that can be exchanged for prizes such as tree seedlings.
The project not only encourages responsible waste segregation, but also educates users on how to care for the environment.

Thanks to cooperation with local governments, such as the Dębnica Kaszubska Municipality, the UCOllector network is growing rapidly, covering more towns and cities throughout Poland.
