UCOllectors in Hel

22November 2024. Hel, a picturesque city located at the tip of the Hel Peninsula, has taken another step toward going green and protecting the environment. The city has officially joined the Nationwide Collection of Used Cooking Oil (UCO). As part of this initiative, two state-of-the-art Olejomats - innovative devices that allow residents and tourists to responsibly dispose of used cooking oil - will appear on Hel.

Why UCOllectors?

Spilling used cooking oil into the sewer system or the environment carries serious risks. Fried oil or grease from cans and preserves can contaminate surface water, soil and sewage infrastructure, leading to serious environmental consequences. The UCOllectors initiative aims to change these practices by implementing a convenient, environmentally friendly UCO recycling system.

How does the Olejomat system work?

Oilmats is a network of special devices designed to collect used cooking oil. Users who register on a free mobile app can pick up an eco-friendly bottle adapted for oil storage. After filling it with used oil, they return it to Olejomat, where they receive points in exchange for participating in the collection. These points can be exchanged for prizes, such as tree seedlings as part of the "Oil you pass, tree you have!" campaign.

Modern application

With a dedicated mobile app for iOS and Android devices, Hel residents can easily manage the collection process. The app allows them to keep track of the points, locate the nearest Oil Mats and learn about educational materials on recycling and ecology.

Hel bets on ecology

The installation of Oil Makers in Hel is another example of the city's commitment to environmental efforts. Thanks to their presence, Hel is becoming an even more environmentally friendly place, inspiring residents and visitors to take care of the planet.

We invite you to join the National Collection of Used Food Oil. Together we can create a better, greener future for us and future generations. Hel is joining the change - join you too!
