The beginnings of the business
The history of EMKA S.A. dates back to the 1990s, when the company began as a local municipal waste collection business in the Mazovia region. Thanks to the commitment of company president Krzysztof Rdest and his vision, the company quickly won the trust of local residents and local governments, building a solid foundation for future growth.
“We did not inherit the land from our ancestors, we only borrowed it from our children,” he said.

Innovation and technology
EMKA S.A. distinguishes itself in the market by investing in modern technological solutions. The company has implemented systems for monitoring and optimizing waste collection routes, which has helped reduce its carbon footprint. At the same time, the company is developing its own waste-to-energy projects, supporting the idea of a closed-loop economy.
Social responsibility
EMKA S.A. has focused on social responsibility since the beginning of its operations. The company organizes numerous educational campaigns on waste segregation and supports local initiatives, engaging in improving the quality of life of local residents. In recent years, the company has also become involved in pro-environmental projects, such as the development of infrastructure for collecting post-frying oils (the UCOllector project).
Current market position
Today, EMKA S.A. is one of the leaders in the waste management industry in Poland. The company cooperates with many local governments, businesses and institutions, providing them with comprehensive solutions. Its activities are appreciated by both customers and the industry community, as evidenced by numerous awards and certificates.
Project UCOllector – EMKA S.A.’s Green Initiative.
One of the most innovative projects implemented by EMKA S.A. is the UCOllector system, a modern infrastructure dedicated to the collection of used cooking oil. UCOllectors are devices that allow residents to conveniently and safely donate UCO, which often ends up in the sewage system, causing damage to the environment. With this project, the company not only minimizes the negative impact of used oil on the ecosystem, but also promotes environmental responsibility among the community. The oil is recycled, turned into recyclable materials or used for biofuel production, which is in line with the idea of a closed loop economy. The project has attracted a lot of interest, and EMKA S.A. plans to develop it further, increasing the number of UCOllectors in more locations across Poland.
